How about this tree, quite dead, & just left sitting, or should I say standing, in the park. The only reason that I can think of is that it would now be hollow & make great nesting places for some of the parrots. Personally, I think it is a great artform.

How interesting, a bit sad really, the way its branches have been lopped. Maybe it is used as a nesting place but if I were an animal looking for a secure home I think I would find it a bit exposed. But thanks for an unusual and stimulating post. And happy new year to you.
They are called 'stag trees'. It is a bit unfortunate that it has been lopped but I guess some things would still be happy to live there. The stumpy limbs would hopefully hollow out and provide nesting sites.
