A Spring

Another one of my very green photos, this time showing the "Ryuhi", or water spring, situated half way up the steps leading to the gate of the Shurijo Castle. The water pours from the mouth of a dragon, which originally came from China way back in 1523. Water from this spring has been used to provide fresh drinking water not only to the castle, but to guest houses nearby.

Okinawa Waterfont

Okinawa City is part of the  Okinawa prefecture, which  is actually a group of islands south west of Japan in the South China Sea. There are approximately 150 islands making up this long chain. some inhabited, some not. We were only in port for the day so were limited with what we saw.

These were views of Okinawa waterfront as we sailed into port. We were up early today to have a good breakfast ready for our tour this morning.

Sailing Into The Port of Osaka

The Port of Osaka is one of the main ports in Japan, situated within Osaka Bay. It has become  one of the major ports in Asia.

This was the view from our cabin balcony as we slipped into the Port of Osaka.

Sailing To Osaka

We sailed over night, down the coast of Japan, and were due into Osaka at 1pm. The schedule of our cruise had changed because of the typhoon, so we were still sailing down the coast in daylight hours the next morning.

This suited us fine, and made for great photo opportunities from our cabin balcony. 

We were not far from land at all.

Osaka was in view, but we were still a fair way away. There was time for a quick bight to eat before we docked. By this time we had found the buffet upstairs, and the choice of salad items and cold meats was endless. There was plenty of hot food as well but I was hungry for salad.

Ahhhhh......... food and relaxation watching the world slip by. What more could I need!
