Moth, Butterfly Or ..............................?
This pretty little creature was resting under a branch on my climbing rose. Just over 1cm long.

I have the same bug in my garden. I identified it using http://bugguide.net/node/view/616041/bgpage
And then looked it up on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siphanta_acuta which doesn't say much about it. It's a sap-sucker, so that's got to be a minus for the plant, the sap-sucking activity attracts ants (minus) and bees (plus), but the bees' honey can become toxic to humans (minus).
I found way more at http://www.extento.hawaii.edu/kbase/crop/type/s_acuta.htm, where they are officially considered to be pests of their tropical banana, citrus, coffee, guava & macadamia orchards.
